Habitat
Slope. [This moss species is the] principal ground cover in white spruce-black spruce forest, with few larch. Floor deeply covered with feather mosses and lichens. No Sphagnum. Shrubs: Ledum, Betula glandulosa, Myrica, Potentilla, Shepherdia, Juniperus horizontalis, Empetrum, Vaccinium vitis-idaea. Herbs: Geocaulon, Carex scirpoidea, Mitella, Habenaria obtusata, Tofieldia pusilla, etc.
