Dry, open, sandy woods.

Description
This almost wholly resembles Solidago odora with which it grows, but instead of the pleasant odor of that species, it has the common Solidago smell, like S. altissima, S. canadensis, etc. I found it at Martha's Vineyard in 1829 and in great abundance at Plymouth in 1839--it is generally tall than Solidago odora anbd in the panicle more divided. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
