Seasonally dry llanos fields.

Description
Erect, compactly branched shrubs, ca 1-2 m tall; petals deep magenta, narrowly obovate or elliptic tapering to an oblique apex; antepetalous anthers yellow suffused with red on lower portion of abaxial side; their appendages yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
