    Forest on relatively level terrain behind levee, flooded supra-annually. Canopy discontinuous in places, understory with high density of Heliconia and Marantaceae. Rare.

    hemi-epiphyte. Root-climbing succulent hemi-epiphyte, leaves pale green, bracts paler green with red-purple glandular teeth, dehisced fruits red, carpels patent. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
