Habitat:	Shallow depressions in granite rock that fill
with water during rains. The depressions contain a
thin layer of coarse soil. Isoetes melanospora Engelm
is sometimes an associate of Amphianthus.
Location:	Flat exposure of granite about £ mile north of
Stone Mountain, Dekalb County, Georgia. Elevation
about 1000 feet.
