Stems very short, to 4cm or more thick, tufted, densely covered in pale green roots with white to white-green velamen. Roots to 5nun thick, forming a complete closed covering around stem to 2cm thick or more# Petiole green, to 22cn long, 1,6cm deep, cross-section widely variable: c? a o O Petiolar sheath short with narrowing margins apically. Leaf lamina with very strongly and regularly undulate margins, undulations extending down to costa and bringing 2 halves_of JLamina into subparallel position, diagram: Lamina dark matt green above, paler below, obovate,- 48 to 72cm long, 14 to 29cm wide, costa and primary lateral nerves very strongly prominent above and below, Apical TS costa: Basal TS costa: 'G-eniculum yellow-green, swollen on dorsal side, same cross-section as petiole. Peduncle 22-46cm long, 0,65-1.5cm thick, green, or green with purple apex, terete or with single angle along one side. Spathe outside green with purplish tingeing down centre and at margins, inside green or with purple margins or purple, 5#8-10cm long, 3.6-7.6cm broad, broadly oblong-ovate with rounded base and acuminate apex, broadly clasping at base^apex reflexing and rolling up beneath, in long-stiped spms spathe base folded sharply down, not cupped around stipe base. Stipe swelling upwards, 1-6,2cm long, 0,65-1,8cm thick, pale green to purple, Spathe decurrency 0,7-2,5cm long, Spadix apex obtuse, spadix from slightly apically tapering to cylindrical to clavate, at anthesis giving off sweet, fruity, almost pineapple and slightly fermented smell, 5.7-17cm long, 1-2,3cm thick, tepals green before stigmas receptive, yellow at stigma- receptive stage and anthesis, khaki after anthesis. Old stamens rusty brown, pollen cream. Sterile fruit .oblanceolate, quadrangular in cross-section, apex acute, ultimately truncate, exserted part rich purply-maroon, remainder paler, 1 .6cm long, 3ram thick at level of tepal surface.
