Slender unarmed macrophyllidious treelet ± 2 m, with smooth terete branches
and bright green lustrous subconcolorous lvs, glabrous except for growing tips
and microscopically brownish-puberulent perianth, the shortly racemose capituli-
form units of inflorescence paired at furthest lf-axil of some lateral branchlets.
Stipules minute caducous. Lf-formula i/l£—2\, the anterior member of proximal
pair of Ifts wanting; lf-stk ± 2.5—3.5 cm, at middle 0.9—1.3 mm diam, narrowly
green-marginate; nectaries at tip of lf-stk and between each pair of lfts
sessile, round or crumpled, scarcely concave, ± 1.2—2 mm diam; lft-pulvinules
1.6—2 x 1—1.3 mm, shallowly wrinkled; pinna-rachises 2—6 cm, the longer distal
interfoliolar interval 1.3—3.6 cm; lfts strongly accrescent distally, obovate or
elliptic from subequilaterally cuneate base, obtuse, the shorter proximal ones
straight, the distal ones gently incurved, the distal blades 6.5—8.5 X 2.2—2.9
cm; venation pinnate, the subcentric midrib and many crowded, widely ascending
secondary nerves all more sharply prominulous dorsally. Peduncles (few seen)
5.5—6.5 cm; capitula ± 20-fld, the floral axis ±6x2 mm, the fls homomorphic,
pedicels ± 2 mm;
the bracts minute ephemeral;^ perianth 4-merous, the calyx green, the corolla and
androecium white; calyx narrowly vase-shaped ± 2.7 X 2.2 mm, the deltate-ovate
teeth 0.5 mm; corolla 7.7 mm, the concave lobes to 1.6 X 1.4 mm; androecium
26-merous, to 20.3 mm, the stemonozone to 3 mm, no disc seen; style filiform
shortly exceeding longest filaments; ovary glabrous. Pod not seen.
At forest edge, known only from Amorim & al. 1670,(NY).
