Description
Tree 20 ft., spread 20 ft., trunk diameter 6 inches. Thisa seems to be the only grove in the Santa Ana Mts. Thousands of trees cover an area approximately 1 mile in extent. Fires have burned the trees in the past, and the bulk of the trees are seedlings 16-30 years old, 6-12 ft. high and with trunks only an inch or so in diameter. A few larger trees remain. For years the larger trees have been used for posts. On the ridge above are dwarfs a foot high and 1--15 years old. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
