Brazil. Rio de Janeiro. Cultivated in Lyon Arboretum, Honolulu, Hawaii, from rhizomes from the collection of Roberto Burle Marx, originally brought from Espiritu Santo.

Description
Herb to 0.4 m. Leaf above whitish green with dark green oval spots; dark purple below. Pulvinus purple, petiole and sheath green tinged purple. Bracts light green. Sepals translucent, petals white. Outer staminodes white, callose staminode yellow in throat, white above. Capsule green. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
