    Caatinga scrub on sand with sandstone outcrops.

  • Description

    Herb to 1 m with fibrous root and single stem branched near the base stems purple tinged, hairy below. Leaves greyish green, paler beneath the foetid odour. Upper part of main stem swollen, glaucous purplish green. Calyx pale green. Corolla pale sky blue with paler area at base of upper lip with a few straight black lines. Side lobes of corolla spreading forward and horizontally, and level with the top of the small upper lip. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
