  • Description

    Cormous herb, 1 m tall, with latex; corm to 7 cm diam., 3.5 cm thick, convex on bottom; cataphyll spongy, strongly mottled-striate purple-brown becoming green upward; petiole stout, green marked with longitudinal interrupted cream lines and often suffused brown downward; spathe to 21 cm long; tube ovoid, 8.5 x 3.1 cm, green outside and scarcely glossy, inside matte pale green with darker nerves; limb slender and ivory except outside centrally grenn toward apex which is 9 mm long, opening to 3 cm across (flattened out 5.3 cm across), to expose staminate part of spadix; pistilate flowers without annular style though all are stuck together by sticky apical coating; no fruits developing, though persistent tube of spathe enlarges to 10 x 3.7 cm. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
