Small stream with marsh on white sand, and surrounding cerrado on sandstone rock exposures. This plant growing in damp sand.

Erect herb to ca. 40 cm. Leaves strongly tinged red. Calyx red-tinged. Corolla purple. Stigma white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
