Slightly disturbed mesophytic forest and open savanna.

Description
Solitary palm, trunk erect, 8 m tall, 12 cm in diameter, internodes 1 dm long; 13 contemporaneous leaves, sheath and petiole 9 dm long, the basal 2,5 dm with fibres; 127 pairs of pinnae, somewhat clustered. Several inflorescences in different stages, basal bract 3 dm long, second bract 8 dm long with a 4 dm long fusiform part, peduncle 4 dm long, rachis 4 dm long; male flowers yellow, female flowers green; 44 rachillas, these not elongating in fruit. Frequent at the border of savanna among granite blocks. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
