Disturbed areas of semi-deciduous forest.

Description
Small tree 15 cm. in diameter; bark smooth, with alternating longitudinal stripes of green and tan; cut twigs with both clear and light tan sap, the sap turning dark reddish in a few minutes and eventually black. Flowers yellow-green, visited by small bees and wasps of several sizes (1:30 P.M., sunny).
