  • Description

    Vining bamboo in clumps of ca. 30 small culms that reach into the trees at 3 0r 4 meters, the culms glabrous, solid except for a small lumen and air canals. Culm leaves: sheath green, smooth, becoming stramineous and falling when pushed away by the developing branches; blade green, horizontal, caducous. Branch complement: 3 branches--2 lateral and 1 central dominant one that reaches upward and outward, forming a configuration that allows the branches to catch onto vegetation for support; bracts conspicuous. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
