Description
Tree, 25 m x 50 cm, with low (to 70 cm high), symmetric buttresses. Bark reddish brown, very rough, peeling in irregular plates, the slash yellowish with very conspicuous concentric red bands. Inflorescences along branches, some of the branches bearing inflorescences at least 8 cm DBH. Flowers with calyx and corolla rust colored, the staminal tube yellowish white, the filaments golden yellow. [Photo]. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
