PLANTS <QF COLOMBIA
Small shrub to one and a half metres.
Leaves opposite and decussate, with long
domatia at base of leaf and on petiole*
With long red hairs, sparse tout more
especially at the nodes. Inflorescence
usually terminal. Calyx tube green, with
five lobes each represented as one, two or
three small thorn-like hairs, red-brown in
colour. Corolla pink or white, to orange.
Fruit pink at first, later becoming black.
Plant infested with ants.
Bain forest only slightly disturbed.
Amazonas : in the area to the northwest
of Leticia.
