Dense, tall, partly deciduous seasonal forest. With Cactaceae, Syagrus coronata, Bombacaceae, Tillandsia, and other terrestrial and epiphytic bromeliads. Many species wilted due to stress.

Scandent shrub 3 m tall, at edge of road. Bracts magenta, calyx tube reddish brown without, lobes reddish brown with white margins. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
