Habitat
Mixed restinga vegetation on sand, with high forest low trees and shrubs, and sedge meadow with open wet areas on white sand. This plant in bushy places in low restinga.

Description
Spindly subshrub to 2 m. Leaves rather dark green slightly rugose, grey-green below. Bracts pink. Calyx pink. Corolla with pale pink tube, deep apricot limb turning to deep reddish-pink. Ripe fruits glossy black. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
