United States of America. Idaho. Custer Co. White Knob Mountains, Stewart Canyon. Growing on avalanche deposit (?) below the limestone cliffs of Redbird Mountain. The limestone cobbles form an arcuate ridge with Pinus flexilis just over the crest of the ridge away from the valley wall.

Growing on avalanche deposit (?). Associates: Eritrichium nanum, Oxytropis sericea, Phlox pulvinata, Draba densifolia, and Astragalus kentrophyta. Common.
