Open forest on undulating terrain, non-dominant presence of taboca (Guadua); terra firme except for "baixios" (waterlogged low-lying areas). Sandy clay soils.

Description
Tree. Tree 20 m x 16 cm, outer bark brown, rough due to numerous raised lenticels, thin, brittle and soft, inner bark pastel red, brittle. Calyx green, rest of flower white except stigmas yellow. Photo. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
