Habitat
Tall tropical evergreen forest. Common at edges of road. On flat, red clay soil.

Description
Shrub or slender treelet, 4 m. tall; wood soft. Crushed foliage not fetid, with faint spicy odor; leaves green above, whitened below. Inflorescence hanging below leaves at all stages; corolla white; anthers yellow. Fruit green, not held erect below the leaf.
