Brazil. São Paulo. São José dos Campos Mun. Ca. 7 km S of main plaza at Sao josé dos Campos, along main road to Paraibuna.

Habitat
Disjunct cerrado area of several hundred sq. km. surrounded by former forest. Medium- dense cerrado near edge of west-facing slope, about 100 m. from highway. Small trees 4-6 m. tall, about 3 m. apart. Ground slightly shaded here & there. Invaded slightly by Melinus minutiflora.

Shrub 3 m. tall. Ripe berry black, oblate spheroidal, 4.5 mm tall, 6 mm. diam. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
