United States of America. Oregon. Harney Co. Steens Mountain. In rocky areas somewhat below a late persistent snowbank near top of south rim of Little Blitzen Gorge, about 1 mile below gorge head.

Habitat
In mossy pockets in sheltered areas beneath large boulder, in crevices on it, with moisture seeping through. Assoc. sp.: Caltha leptosepala, Oxyria digyna. About 100 plants.
