Habitat
Diverse wet forest. Dicranopteris linearis, Metrosideros polymorpha, Broussasia arguta, Cheirodendron trigynum, Myrsine sandwicensis.

Description
Tree 3-10 m tall, lvs 15-35 cm long, lflts 7-15, broadly elliptic, lowest pairs often swollen. Endemic to Hawaii.
