Description
Pileus 2-7.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, usually depressed on the disc, moist and hygrophanous or dry, not velutinous but ±turf-like under a lens, agate brown to reddish brown (7-8E8), with even margin at first, soon sulcate and somewhat scalloped. Flesh reddish brown, unchanging, with watery white latex, up to 2-3 mm thick, with pungent odor ±like fragilis and mild taste. Lamellae decurrent, subdistant, pale pinkish flesh color when young, deep pinkish flesh color with age, with even edges, unchanging when cut. Stipe 4-6 cm long, 4-8 mm thick, ±equal, strict or curved, dry, finely silky fibrillose (lens), otherwise appearing glabrous, with interior becoming hollow. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
