PLANTS OF ILLINOIS Saururaceae Saururus cernuus L. Lizard’s-tail Cook County. Town of New Trier, Village of Winnetka. Skokie Lagoons near 1762 Tower Rd. just east of Interstate 94. N42.115366 W87.774561.Elev. 624 ft. Herb to 2 ft. tall with nodding racemes of fragrant white flowers. Growing in large patches along muddy edges of the Skokie Lagoons in full sun and in shade.
