Norwegian Hollow Road at junction with Hwy. C.
43°24′04″N, 90°47′02″W. alt. 230 m.
Unshaded grassy roadside, the lower mowed part with
dense patch of *Pimpinella saxifraga* and with *Setaria*
*pumila*. *Cichorium intybus*, the unmowed upper part on
steep, unstable slope with *Symphyotrichum pilosum*. *S.*
*novae-angliae*. *Pycnanthemum virginianum*.
Dominant, forming a large patch, with many flowering and
fruiting stems and even more basal rosettes; found along
several miles of Norwegian Valley Road, but now not
conspicuous and easily mistaken for *Daucus carota* from a
moving car; from thick taproot, all broken off before
reaching the bottom. Root, foliage and fruits with no
particular odor. Petals white.
