Georgia., Kazbegi region (Central Caucasus), Gergeti range, about 6km
NW of vill. Kazbegi, qbout 1km SE of Ortsveri glacier, about 400m right of
t Chkheri. ca. 42° 39.524'N: ca. 44° 34.407' E. Elevation: ca. 2900 m.
Scree, between moraines. Plant cover 20 %. Poa alpina, Colpodium
versicolor.
Leaf tissue was collected from this specimen
for DNA exfraction, by Joseph Kleinkopf of
the UNM Herbarium, for a study on
phylogenetic relationships in Erigeron
(Asteraceae: Astereae). November 2024.
Perennial. Stem 3-15cm. Basal leaves spathulate, obtuse, entire, sparsely
hirsute-pubescent or ciliate eglandular; cauline leaves lanceolate or
oblanceolate. Capitula solitary on flowering stems bearing long spreading and
shorter adpressed hairs. Phyllaries commonly purplish. Pappus brownish
