United States of America. California. Shasta Co. Sacramento Canyon, 0.6 mile south of Gibson. Observed from Gibson to Hazel Creek, but not elsewhere.

Habitat
In open rocky gulch. Not seen in the forest. With Grindelia camporum var. davyi, Rhus diversiloba, Cercis occidentalis, Arctostaphylos viscida, etc. Locally frequent.

Description
Open bushes, the very woody basal stems spreading over rocks; corolla deep sky blue, the tube purple; leaves bright green. Chromosome number determined at meiosis, n = 8. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
