  • Habitat

    In open rocky gulch. Not seen in the forest. With Grindelia camporum var. davyi, Rhus diversiloba, Cercis occidentalis, Arctostaphylos viscida, etc. Locally frequent.

  • Description

    Open bushes, the very woody basal stems spreading over rocks; corolla deep sky blue, the tube purple; leaves bright green. Chromosome number determined at meiosis, n = 8. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
