Pastureland, with S. viarum and S. capsicoides.. Zig-zag stems.
Corollas stark white, lobes 3-4 mm long, stellate externally.
Ovaries and styles pubescent; anthers 3.5-4.5 mm long, attenuate,
golden yellow. Fruits orange-red, ca. 8 mm across, with a few
hairs at the apex, otherwise glossy. Stems and leaves densely
stipitate-stellate. Stems with many stout, curved prickles.
