North of Cross River, W of Waccabuc River, sand pit, ca 1.8 km ENE of Trailside Nature Museum (straight line), Lat. 41.2654982°, Lon. -73.5695728° (WGS 84, ± 5m), ca 125 m elev. Growing in sparse colonies in sandy meadow, former gravel pit with Schizachyrium scoparium, Carex sp., and Dichanthelium sp. Infrequent at this location, invasive elsewhere. Grass to 1.9 meters tall.
