United States of America. California. Alameda Co. Part way up grade 0.5 mile north of Tesla.

Habitat
On east slope. Associates: Grindelia camporum, Distichlis spicata, Frankenia grandifolia var. campestris and Eriogonum angulosum. Quite abundant. These hills very alkaline.

Description
All plants with scattered heads and yellow anthers; stems glistening white; heads campanulate. Central shaft replaced by several, radiating, divergent branches from 3 to 10 or 20 cm. above the base. The only form of virgata here. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
