PLANTS OF RABUN COUNTY, GEORGIA, U. S. A. CYPERACEAE Carex albicans Willd. - var. australis (L. H. Bailey) Rettig Det: peh Dillard vicinity; from U. S. Hwy. 441, about 0.5-1.5 miles east on Ga. Hwy. 246, then tight about 1 milon Darnell Creek Road. Then left, up drainage along road to a falls and shooting range on USFS land for 0.6 to 1.1 miles (collection locations). Above a small 30 foot tall waterfall in deep valley. Growing in a colony 5 by 15 meters in loose rhizomatous colony; mesic deep cove hardwoods, mediium sized stream nearby, lots of Rhododendron maximum.
