Brazil. São Paulo. Mogi Guaçú Mun. Campos da Sete Lagoas. Fazenda Campininha, just north of Rio Moji-Guaçu, 3.7 km NNW of Padua Sales. About 27 km NW of city of Moji-Mirim.

Habitat
General vegetation: campo cerrado (a type of scrubby woodland originally) on upland, or very rarely forest. open marsh or dense secondary forest "mata" along the streams. This habitat: open marshy field along west side of brook.

Description
Subshrub 5 feet tall, a close clump of single stems from the ground. Flowers all parts white, corolla 5-6 m diam. Young fruits purple; mature fruits shining black, oblate-spheroidal, to 5.5 mm long, 7 mm diam. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
