[ID note: Hypanthium (including lobes) 2 mm long and plant is generally
coarser than A- occidentalis. Habitat and location are also quite unlike A. oc-
cidentalis. which seems to occur in partial shade at the edges of chaparral.]
Coachella Valley, Palm Desert, a common weed in a lawn in a condomin-
ium complex at Mountain Shadows Golf Course. Has been present for at
least a couple of years. Eradication efforts have so far been unsuccessful.
