Carmona heterophylla Cav. is the type of the genus Carmona and was^ correctly interpreted by Blanoo. It is, however, anr exact synonym of Ehretia microphylla Lam. It is common and widely distributed in the Philippines at low and medium al- titudes in the settled areas.
