Hill ebrand calls this Ipomoea tuberculata var. trichosperma but does not state whether it is his (own creation, or if he .has reduced Ipomoea trichosperma Blume, to a variety. Horace Mann, who was a very acutb botanist, determined it‘as J pal- mata. Commdn on the, hot; dry, lower slopes, trailing over Lava rocks and bushes.'
