rachis; flowers bronze without, pale within,
petals 2.5 mm. long, 1.2 mm. wide, ovate,
with an incurved hook at tip; inner surface
carinate, petals soon reflexed; stamens
erect, 5, exserted on filaments 2 mm. long,
anthers bluntly sagitate, set like harpoon
points; styles 3, forming a column, but
separate and reflexed on summit of the
triangular black fruit. Petals and stamens
readily caducous.
