Henan Province, Neixiang Xian: Baotianman Nature Reserve,
Dahongsi River. 33°24’N; 111°54’E. Elevation 900-1300 m.
Disturbed and remnant forests dong river. Dominant trees:
Quercus, Diospyros, Salix at lower elevations; with Tilia, Acer,
Betula and Lindera above 1200 m. Tree ca. 8 m tall; flowers
just starting to open, petal! white, red at tip.
