G. Ellis det. H. J. Venter, 2002 South Africa. Free State. Fouriesburg, Meiringspoort Resort: 28° 36.322' S: 28° 13.424'E In kloof forest along river, on gentle slope in partial shade. In rocky soil of sandstone clay and in running water along river bank. Grassland with Kiggelana africana, Buddleja salviifolia, Rhamnus prinoides and Myrsine africana. Native and occasional. Perennial graminoid bamboo, 3-4 m high, culms hollow with solid nodes. Leaves with stem clasping sheaths, alternate, simple, glabrous, lamina narrowly ovate, 6-8 x 7-10 mm. No flowers.
