On gentle to moderate northern, southern and eastern mountain slope of pasture
in hill sun. In well-drained stony soil of sandstone loam. Native and abundant.
Grassland, with Harpochloa, Pentanisia prunelloides, Gnidia and Resnova.
Perennial geophytic herb, 30-40 cm high, with a large stem tuber. Simple, hairy
leaves opposite, lanceolate in shape, leaf margins entire. Flowers with mauve
corolla, 40 mm in diameter, in spikes.
