FLORA OF TANZANIA Os Ellemann 380 Thunbergia fischeri Engl. Acanthaceae NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 05033025 Naorongoro Conservation Area. Between Endulen Hospital and Ndiyan. Shrub savanna. Information given by Lepilal Ole Nakuroi, Irking'onde-age group, and Saning'o Siroyan Ole Nakuroi, c. 85 years. (35° 16' E 3° 12' S). Alt. 1900 m. APT 22> 1993 Low shrub, flowers yellow. Maasai name: alchampus la alasuria (pus means blue, asuria means snake). Used to treat snakebites of snakes from the highland called "osupuko". Flowers and leaves are chewed and mixed with sap of the fruit of "endulelei" (Solanaceae, Solanum incanum) and placed on the bite. Herbarium of the University Denmark CAAU) 05033025
