Steep mountain, in pasture along roadside, foil sun, well-drained stony soil of
bushveld complex loam. Native and abundant. Grassland and Savanna with
Eragrostis, Panicum.
Perennial grass of 1m high. Leaves simple, glabrous, alternate, margins entire.
Inflorescence a panicle of spikelets.
