Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Tree with low buttresses, 30m tall. Round, clear bole. Bark brittle, rough, brown, flakes when old. Slash brownish-yellow or orange; strong, foetid odor. Leaves simple, elliptic, apex acuminate, margin entire, base decurrent to cuneate; white hairs, some in domatia. 05022605
