Habitat
45% slope; steep south facing valley slope. With Abies grandis, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Sorbus scopulina, Acer glabrum, with scattered Abies lasiocarpa and Picea engelmannii. Common. Fragmented sedimentary rock southern exposure.

Description
Growing in loose mats with ascending large purple-pink flowers; height 1-1.5 decimeters. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
