river disturbed, riverine area, rice cultivation occasional throughout tNfe dry,
hillysandy region, 15° 26‘ 46" S 47° 3T 33" E, elevation ca 30 m.
Small tree, 2-3 m tall, solitary or multi-stemmed, 10 cm in diameter, maybe
dioecious, some plants nearly leafless during the Malagasy winter, some in full
leaf during this very dry time of the year, fruit a capsule, subtended by a
persistent calyx, 4 cm in diameter.
