Location
Bolivia. Santa Cruz. Florida Prov. 2.5 km on dirt road off and north from the Samaipata to Mairana highway, the turnoff just below the highest point and on the Mairana side, 7 km (by air) SE of Mairana.

Habitat
Ridgetop and slopes, heavily grazed. Dominated by Baccharis (see no. 47706 and 47708), Dodonaea viscosa, Acacia aroma but essentially no lower cloud forest elements. Common.

Description
Shrubs, scattered, to 3 m tall. Some plants with leaves more pubescent on the underside than others, but the corollas identical. Flowers held horizontally, visited by a hummingbird; corolla red-orange.
