Ardisia pachysandra Merr.

Primary forest 40 m high, somewhat
disturbed. Hill side of limestone
hill, terrain sloping to steep.
Tree, solitary, 25 m high, without
exudate from the leaves. Flower whi-
te, anthers yellow, very fragrant.
Clear bole 15 m, without buttresses
Outer bark 0.3 mm thick, greyish
yellow, not peeling off, not fissur-
ed. Inner bark 6 mm thick, red turn-
ing dark brown, without exudate.
Sapwood yellow, gradually passing
into the yellowish red heartwood.
